NIKE VISION RELEASES NIKE GOLF X2 AND NIKE GOLF X2 PRO SUNGLASS

New for Spring 2015, Nike Vision announces the addition of the Golf X2 and Golf X2 Pro to its performance line. Designed for golfers and utilizing real-time insight gained from the brand’s roster, the Nike Golf X2 and Golf X2 Pro rolled out in February.

Working in collaboration with Nike Golf’s staff athletes, the Golf X2 and Golf X2 Pro were conceived with one goal in mind: to help athletes reach the top of their game. The Golf X2 features a slimmer temple design and top bar to fit easily and comfortably under a hat. The style also includes silicone adjustable temples and a ventilated silicone nose bridge for custom fit, added grip and stability. Both the Golf X2 and Golf X2 Pro feature a matte finish on the frames, designed to eliminate reflective glare that can cause visual interference.

“Our aim was to create a product that would elevate the standard of golf-specific eyewear,” said Carl Allen, Senior Designer at Marchon Eyewear, Nike Vision’s licensing company.

“Both the Golf X2 and X2 Pro feature a lightweight design for both comfort and fit. They also have a newly-expanded frame and lens shape that provides increased coverage, to protect golfers from harsh sun over the course of the day.”

While predominantly similar in design, the Golf X2 Pro features a different lens cut that allows the lens to sit above the cheek, making it ideal for wearers with higher cheek bones. Certain color ways of both styles come equipped with Nike MAX Golf Tint. MAX Golf Tint is a patented technology that enhances critical details of the fairway and green, by suppressing unnecessary visual details and amplifying the contrast between highlights and shadows on the green for better readability. The technology also ensures that the white of the ball “pops” for the wearer.

Like all of Nike Vision’s performance product, the Golf X2 and X2 Pro includes Nike’s patented MAX Optics lens design, creating a greater visual “sweet spot” throughout the entire periphery of the eyewear, ensuring golfers experience no distortion when aligning their putts.

FEATURES OF THE GOLF X2 INCLUDE:

  • A lightweight nylon frame for comfort and durability
  • Adjustable Silicone Secure-Wrap Temples for a customized fit, added grip and maximum stability
  • Adjustable Silicone Ventilated Nose Bridge for a customized fit that improves comfort and reduces fogging
  • A deep lens cut for maximum coverage
  • Cam-action hinges that snap firmly into place

FEATURES OF THE GOLF X2 PRO INCLUDE:

  • A lightweight nylon frame for comfort and durability
  • Adjustable Silicone Secure-Wrap Temples for a customized fit, added grip and maximum stability
  • Adjustable Silicone Ventilated Nose Bridge for a customized fit that improves comfort and reduces fogging
  • A Pro Cut Lens that expands the eyewear’s coverage and fit profile
  • Thin Temple Design to comfortably fit under a hat

“Having the correct eyewear is invaluable, it can make or break your day on the course,” said Paul Casey, professional golfer and Nike athlete. “The opportunity to provide feedback to the team directly ensured that the result would be just what myself and other golfers need.”

The Golf X2 and Golf X2 Pro begin at $156.00 and are available at Nike.com and select other retailers.
